Donte Franklin

Donte Franklin (born November 10, 1988) is an American musician, talent manager, producer, song writer, music teacher and most known as the Founder/Manager of the all girls R&B and Pop Band out of Oakland, California, "Sisters Keeper Band." Franklin was born and raised in Oakland, California. His love for music came at a early age in his life because as a toddler he grew up listening to all of the R&B classics and Jazz. His grandparents kept that genre of music on repeat in the house and in their car. He attended Piemdont Elementary in Oakland California and that's where he met one of his mentors and music teacher, Marlow Green. Franklin went from the Trumpet to the drum set by time he entered Middle School. Franklin was the main drummer for Westlake Middle School while he attended there and eventually started playing drums for his church choir. His musical journey as a drummer continued once he entered Oakland Technical High School.

After high school he started taking the piano and organ more seriously and in 2011, he decided to start teaching kids in his community how to play drums. Franklins mom couldn't afford to pay for his drums lessons when he was growing up so he decided to give most of his students free drum lessons. Franklin has an passion and patience to teach kids who really want to learn how to play. He would and continues to discover other talents that his students had while giving them drum lessons or piano lessons. A few of his drum and piano students had a hidden talent of singing or playing another instrument so he would stop lessons to develop their vocals or stage presence.

In 2013, Franklin would later on form and Manage an all girls band called, "Sisters Keeper Band" based out of Oakland. He would put on different productions for the girls throughout the community and including some of his other piano and drums students in the band's production.

In 2014, he would be introduced to D'Wayne Wiggins from the popular male R&B group, "Tony! Toni! Tone!" Wiggins and Franklin partnered up to keep the productions going with the girls while Franklin also gained more knowledge of the music industry and leadership skills working with Wiggins.

In 2015, Franklin was asked to be the Musical Director of, "Tony's School Of Music" camp put on by D'Wayne Wiggins and "Youth Aid" non profit. Also in 2015, Franklin started writing and producing tracks for "Sisters Keeper Band" which will be released in the summer of 2016.
